Yeah actually an alarm clock function would be extremely useful - I'm surprised that wasn't an added feature in the v1.5 BIOS update.

Interesting - I wonder if the powering off is like a built-in "protection" thing in the case of buffer overflow exploit vectors? or just a quirk...

Just going on what's been posted here.

I suppose it's not *definite* that it will be shipping with v1.5, but it would appear to make sense that bugs in the Japanese release would've been ironed out for the US rollout.

Firmware

If the US release will be shipping with v1.5(?) of the firmware and must already have shipped to stores, is there any definitive word on the differences between 1.0 and 1.5? and why isn't it available for download already?

Just wondered is all...

Re: New version of 3gp converter out

Now up to v0.31 ! Blimey ! Anyone had a chance to trry this version out? Just tried this with some very acceptable results (converted an 800Mb MPEG to circa 93Mb MP4). I'm going to re-convert a full 4.3Gb MPEG again and see if it makes much of a difference to the 500+Mb MP4 it made with a previous ...

An observation

Hi, Might've been seen before but I hadn't noticed it until I got an English manual - If the PSP is on and you hold the power button up for 2+ seconds to turn it off, it looks like it does a 'cold' shutdown because when you switch it back on it looks like it reads (or writes?) data to/from the memca...

Both PC's are running WinXP Pro SP2

I guess it could be a driver issue on the one PC.

The PC that it was fine on has a GeForce 6800 in it.

The older PC has a 3D Prophet 4500 w/ TV-Out on it.

Hi Grover, just used your util to convert a DVD (4.3Gb) down to a nice 347Mb so it'll fit nicely onto a suitable memcard. A couple of points I noticed when using it (not complaints, just observations!) - I tried the software on two different PCs, both using nVidia chipset gfx cards, both machines we...
