PS2 Linux as a NFS Server with kernelloader?
Hi, I managed to set up linux on my old ps2 and was wondering if it is possible to use the ps2 with linux as a NFS server. Are there RPMs available and would it work on my old ps2? Network speed? If there are rpms for nfs server, then I'd like to stream from my dbox 2 linux onto the nfs share. The d...

Hi, I used the old version 1.8 to run Linux on my old ps2 model with lan adapter. Would be nice to have a linux running nfs. Is this possibl...

xwindow usbmouse problem and gamepad as mouse device?
So finally I saw a xwindow yesterday! But my mouse was not recognized lol I found out that in XGSConfig the mouse links to /dev/usbmouse but I could only find mouse in /dev/ so I made a symbolic link and that at least helped to start xwindow. So I will have to find a way to set up my mouse or better...

I had problems within kernelloader 1.7, too. Changed the config file on my pc to boot from hda2. Did you try to plug your keyboard on different ports?!? Got no problem with my microsoft usb keyboard so far. @megaman. Perhaps it is a good idea to let us select different config files within the kernel...

Except for the config file which is missing everything looks fine. Today I will copy the xgsconfig file to the system and try to set up xwindow. It take...

Perl and 5 other could not be downloaded via the server. That is way I am now stuck. I can not install the downloaded packages because I get an error. W...

Re: APA works for me
REMEMBER to backup your APA partitions with Winhiip or the like first! Play with partitioning at your own risk! I installed BlackRhino from scratch using Mega Man's instructions, the kernel and initrd.gz from his download site, on a drive which already was formatted APA with many partitions (in fac...

Memor32 hdd lan adapter an everything works!
Hi, I just managed to get linux prompt on my PS2 with memor32 to boot the kernelloader 1.7 and install with the howto from Megaman! Great thing. No I can boot Linux without the RTE! Next time I will give the GUI a try and afterwards the apa support. Hopefully the sound option and all the other missi...

I read through the howto from http://playstation2-linux.com/projects/apa/ for the rhino distribution with APA support. Is it possible to use these Kernel and initr files which are included in the howto? Would not make a big change to give it a try as I see for now. All you have to do is make a backu...

Hi, @megaman Try http://www.megaupload.com or Rapidshare for your files! As your files are all legal I guess this is the best and fastest way! Did you get the point that with the cdvd driver you need to burn VideoDVDs which have only a 1s Video and the rest is data of your own choice? Or give the me...

Well first of all I will give your howto a try and after this works I can go on. So my list will look like this: 1. Use your howto and install blackrhino basic 2. try to update to a x system 3. apa support 4. perhaps a howto which includes my experiences (e.g.: memor32) ... and with a little luck yo...

Hi, perhaps it is posible to make a linux distribution with the memor32 memorycard mod chip. The trick used with this mod is that it uses special patched dvds. The dvds contain the date but are seen by the ps2 as normal video dvds. Booting the kernelloader elf worked fine, too. So perhaps we can set...

My question is now how do I get a linux rhinodistribution onto my internal hdd and boot it with the kernelloader elf. Is there a tutorial alrea...
