Where did Sony announce UMD burners? I thought it was quite the opposite. let me clarify... they said that they will allow the licencing of the technology to other companies, meaning it would become posible for one of those companies to make a umd burner for use with movie and audio formats http://...

The Wipeout Pure Dump is from the US version (which is 1.50-ready), and a lot of the PRXs are unencrypted. The catch is that the /main/ executable has to be encrypted/signed. (Possibly there are some exceptions from the UMD, since there is a specific trust relationship involved in the technology it...

well with the information currently avalible it would seem that the gateway to hacking the remaning fimware and being able to ultamatly run full scale home brew code is one of the fallowing 3 options... 1) find the key and crack the encryption so that we can encrypt our binarys and run them 2) find ...

well jugdeing from http://www.rmbwoc.com/vidpage/s9pin.html#cmdtbl i would say that it is a good bet that the ps3 is going to have some way of linking to that port and useing it as a media player or vice versa. i wouldn't be suprised to see some game comunication over serial output, (much like the g...

An interesting idea... According to ye ol' wikipedia the PSP would need to send a RRQ (read request) packet to the TFTP server to get the firmware image. It also says TFTP runs on UDP port 69. Hm... well... if that is the case then i guess the best way to scann for this signal would be with one of ...

Re: PSP File (Research Thread)
Currently this is what's known about the PSP file. So far I've done some header modifications to test and come up with an error (80020148). If anyone else can get this error please post how you got it, as it would be very helpful. i got that err when i changed int = 0x00080000 (version?) to int = 0...

Encryption key extraction ?
not sure how much good this would do since there is no way to get an image of a game off of a umd at this point but, might it be prudent to assume that since each pice of psp game code "DATA.PSP and .PSAR" is encrypted by a public AES key, that companies might use the same one for each gam...
