I am going to have to disagree. I have reason to believe sony did enable the monitor mode. That's the easiest way to pull a listing of availible APs. Well viper I did allude to that specific thing. However, there is a lot more to an os than being able to access the CPU. In this case we'd need kernel modules for the sony memory stick, the wifi, the display, usb, and the keypad. Plus whatever else.

Have you produced an RFMon style interface to the wlan controller? I assume you are using sce ap scan API. In which case not what I would like to see. does anyone know of a method to issue direct commands to the wireless chipset? or dump the wireless into monitor mode and do a raw capture? or change...

If someone is willing to confirm the flash0 is easily writeable... which i assume it is as sony does firmware updates =P... then yes, it should be possible to change the background to something prettier.
