using devkitpro/pspsdk and the samples you would very quickly be able to write a function to plot pixels in any colour you wish, clearing the screen is also very easy. its just a case of setting up a buffer in memory, plotting pixels to it, and dumping it into a framebuffer from the gu*() commands....

Thanks for the native packages, I'll be sure to try them out..
However, at the moment I'm using NetBSD 3.99.7; (By the current-versioning system) don't think it should make too much of a difference though..

btw, that's the great thing about debs... it's just a simple ar -x and then tar xvzpf data.tar.gz -C / to get them installed.. no hassle. :)
