Is there something I should be running on my computer when the PSP FTP software starts?

I am not sure what i am doing wrong, but i have my static IP set, and other apps such as the VNC works fine. The first network setting in the infrastructure is set (192.168.0.5, gateway is the router x.x.x.1. But when i run the app, it just hangs and says: " connecting... Associating... " ...
