There's been a LOT of info on PS1/PS2 controllers posted. I suggest starting with searching the forum. Thank you for that most pertinent of tips - I performed a search before posting and didn't find anything that directly related to my question. Do you have any keywords that might narrow the materi...

No more hardware forum so here goes, PS2 controller decoding

Just checked back in here and noticed that the PS2 hardware forum is missing in action. My question is what is required to make a decoder of a PS2 control pad? http://www.multigame.com/vectrex/psx2vec_full_close.jpg Multigame used to make a PS2 to Vectrex adaptor that had many clever functions progr...

Aim corrected!
Thank you :D

For anyone else who wants to do this check out iRShell for the videos were created by a Beta tester.

Xbox controller on PSP (and keyboard too)

Video one with the Xbox pad and video two with the keyboard as well . What goes on? How was this done? I've noticed that vid one has the USB plugged in and no wifi flashing yet in two there is no USB connected but wifi is flashing like crazy. The explanation for this is he either switched the ISO s...

Like I said, that was just a rough guess - I'm intending to patch from wire to wire to extend the control (bypassing all the pads tech and just using input signals), don't know anything about interfacing serially with the PS controller, so the way I see it: Wires 8 dpad 4 analog 2 start 2 select 8 f...

The analog mod was quite simple because all the points are exposed on the back of the potentiometer and wiring it up to the analog ain't that hard: http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget.com/media/2006/10/pcb_connections_psp_engadge.gif As for the pad I'm going to use an original Dual Shock (not...

Controlling PSP via external DualShock, Pinout would be nice

Nice PS2/PSP analog mod here and I was wondering if it is possible to wire up a similar style of connector to plug a complete external PS2 Dualshock pad into a PSP?

Some pinout info for the PSP would be nice.

laichung - My friends response: All I'm saying is that IF the timing is the same as normal TV timing (it's possible to drive the LCD with such timing as indicated by the datasheet) then you can simply put an analog to digital converter on each set of video data lines and have analog RGB video. The h...

Just thinking of a different approach here, seeing as the PSP2TV already jacks into the video and control points (doing half the job I need already) but has poor upscaling would it be possible to take the PSP2TV setup and modify its upscaling process so that it didn't cock the picture up as it does ...

Will do but I'm still researching the initial mod I had in mind at the moment, project option will be looked into fully once I've exhausted all LCD related mod methods :D On a related note, I've been informed that the PSP LCD differs to a standard interface because the panel has an intergrated contr...

Interesting angle, I'd never thought of taking the projector route - Will look into that.

Still prefer the idea of outputting to another LCD or TV but the projector option does seem very feasible and relatively easy to do in comparision to the work that would be needed for the LCD mod/swap.

Uhm.... PSP2TV just films the screen of the PSP i guess... No no, thats the others with the whole camera over the top style. The PSP2TV is a chunk of replacement parts and kit that takes the PSP signal and blows it up to TV resolution. http://image.lik-sang.com/content/psp2tv/tvad-opened3.jpg http:...

Thanks for that illuminating response laichung.

Coming at this from another perspective then, how does the PSP2TV hardware module work and can it be recreated homebrew style?

adrahil - Have I misunderstood something or is this not the LCD pinout? Found it after poking around on Google for a while. http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/9573/pspda6.gif More info at the Sharp site and PDF spec sheet . And the datasheet for the connector is located here . Can anyone decipher so...

PSP LCD alternatives - Can you only use the OG spec?

Is it possible to use a different LCD for the PSP instead of the standard one? I'd love to create a PSP based console that uses a PS2 pad for input and a bigger LCD for output. So, in a nutshell - is it possible to find a larger LCD that can be adapted or used with the PSPs output? Not thinking abou...

Are there any schematics for how the PSP2TV works? The ability to use a PS2 pad to input to the PSP would be superb, forget outputting to the TV. I'd even be happy with cannibalizing the PSP2TV FPC and ditching the slot on the bottom (I take it that all the pins wouldn't be needed due to not requiri...

Help required with .RCO files

Seeing as the 1.5 and the 2.0 have different logos over the gameboot.pmf animation I was wondering if it is possible to edit this information from the opening_plugin.rco file in order to make it display customized text?
