Is there any guideline how to patch the source of mencoder, such that it produces pmp compatible x264?

x264-info_file.diff
x264-pictiming-magik.diff

Just apply the above patch? or any modified version for mencoder?

No. Please use the modified x264 encoder from jonny's site.
Hope that future version of PMP AVC would accept more implementation of x264 encoders.

Result of placing crop AFTER scale: crop: bad position/width/height - cropped area is out of the original! So yeh... as I thought, mencoder doesn't prioritize any of the filters... Currently the only workaround solution is set "video size" as "Original", and then enter "cro...

Please try to add "keyint=250" in "Extra->Video Encoder" under WinMEnc, and check whether the keyframe problem is solved or not. If not, try the value "keyint=0" further.
