sorry jonny, you're right i didn't pay attention on that last part. Kaveman, does autogk support joint stereo vbr encodes? What software do you use for your encodes? Not sure about autoGK - I use a mencoder with custom parameters for 2-pass xvid/mp3 encoding - I found the other simpler solutions produ...

hey jonny i commend you on your latest version - just as i thought you were close to the performance ceiling with 2.00, you have totally blown us away with 2.01 - and the chroma interpolation stuff is simply brilliant my friend. BRILLIANT. similarly with the interface additions - the luma/vol and zo...

Jonny - fantastic update - VBR joint stereo works ace now and produces excellent quality sound, even at 96kbps. @Alcahest and JFox A demuxer would be useful yes, but if you are considering upgrading your PSP beyond 1.5 and want to use the reconverted files, you do realise that mp4 files cannot be th...

1) Sound is blunt, weak, no dynamic, flat 2) Sound is crackling sporadically (this is no stuttering, sounds like a campfire crackling 3) Sound has a high frequency beep and noise/hiss in the background Just my thoughts on this... 1 - Agreed, but I think the PSP is partly to blame. Good headphones w...

something i've noticed (but am not too bothered about) is after playing a few vids, (xvid @24fps @600kbps average, some high detail scenes) 2-3 videos will play fine, then the next will stutter. if i exit the player, restart, then the stuttering is gone. i'm guessing some kind of memory leak? anywa...

i'd imagine PMPMod expects PMPs in YV12? inside mpeg4 asp, the video is always in yv12 (the ideal is working always and only in this colorspace / on the encoding side) yes - i've always understood about working in YV12 as this seems to be the fastest raw colourspace for filter processing (for examp...

sorry - a little [OT] on encoding still I`ve just tried that :'chroma_opt' or simply increasing bitrates were no help to eliminate this artifacts~~ and this artifacts can only be totally eliminated by using overlay video mode!(Vmr9 was obviously worse than overlay, but still better than the origin) r...

ps:Video with pure color(red, blue etc.. )seems to be blocky(artifacts)on psp.but the original avi which was 480x272 with nosound (used to generate pmp) seems no problem on pc,is there any simplification on the decoder?(sony`s offcial pmf format suffers the same problem, but it seems ok in umd video)...

maybe this is a stupid question, but will the current .pmp files be compatible with such release? i have no idea about how the container works, so it'd be important to know it for not deleting the audio and video files before the pmp file conversion. good question - personally i've been encoding st...

interesting that the PMP container isn't interleaved - i assumed it was (not for any particular reason!) also good to know that the container isn't final, so i won't go doing 'archival' conversions en-masse! (yet!) in any case I had noticed that the container overhead that avi suffers from seemed to...

I've noticed that some files I've encoded (for example a TV episode Scrubs Episode 505 [on eztv]) when muxed ends up with a 0.6 second audio delay. miemt11 brilliant work - now with the scommand line parsing, we can really thrash the hell out of the encoder to find the best settings :D the sharpening filters seem to work well, and removing the ofps switch allows the encoder to use the default (inherited) fps from source file which is great. ti...

Okay here's a quick and dirty encode: ... As you can see the quality and sharpness is great. The only thing you may notice is some artifacting (blocking) and some slight blurring at times. No bashing KV, but quality was pretty bad IMHO (just IMHO). If you pause the video at different places, you wo...

Those sharpening options (-sws) are already in his app - Lanczos is the preferred hi quality sharpening, with bicubic being a decent default. What's still to be incorporated is multi-pass encoding which would significantly help with quality and help prevent artifacting on high-motion framesets and ...

I'm including a screenshot of how the artifacts look like. If the video is stretched to fullscreen, the artifacts are stretched (and blurred with interpolation) accordingly. I've tried 3gp and whilst the conversions I've made were flawless, to get good encodes you need 2 pass, and there are no sharpening options. It's a good converter but exhibits temporal blocking artifacts at lower bitrates and also takes a fair amount of time to convert. Videora is simple, but short ...
