Well I just finished watching my first pmp file @ bitrate 1300 and boy does it look sweet :-). Big thanks to the authors for this, pmp avc is great! I did notice a subtle continuous zooming background sound when I played my file, and was wondering what the cause of it could be. I used belight 0.21 ...

Now I know my mistake... I didnt check for inserted battery because I though PSP cant run without it :-) I only check charger. Have to fix that ;-) * fixed in new release http://mihd.net/rslnc4 It works great now. Thanks again! Used these as backgrounds, by the way: http://img92.imageshack.us/img92...

Ah, thàt one thing might be the culprit. I'm running my PSP *without* battery, since it's faulty (kinda "bloated", resulting in poor connection and erratic switchoffs). Will try inserting the battery. *update* You were right! Works now, with battery inserted. I'm trying to get my hands on ...

Hi madruscoe,

Thanks for trying to solve the problem. Tried 1.02M_f, failed. Also failed in both 12/24h settings. Will try irShell using the 1.0 eboot.

*update* Launch of the 1.0 eboot via irShell 3.0 also fails.

Long time no see! Glad PMPMod still gets some tuning. I've just tried out PMP Mod AVC 1.02M_e. The added functionality is impressive stuff, indeed. Have also heard about 3.03 OE-B, but since its bitrate seems to be pegged at 768 kbps, ànd because of a huge PMP-AVC library I've built up (55 GB and co...

Try making an "encode.bat" file, edit it with notepad, and enter this code: x264 --bitrate 512 -A all --level 3 --pictiming --aud --no-psnr --thread-input --progress --output youroutput.264 yourfile.avs Then run encode.bat. This is the most basic command line jonny's suggested, and it has ...

Try encoding the same AVS with jonny's own x264 build or with the patched mencoder. See if that works. Try limiting general encoding questions in this thread, as jonny has pointed out. Perhaps you could start a thread over at the PSPVideo9 forums. In other news, I saw this on PSPUpdates, being the r...

What's the problem with the multiple passes located? Is it from mediacoder or pmpavc doesn't support more than one? Also what is the purpose of the bitrate analysis? thanx. I think it still is a bug in Mediacoder, or possibly in x264. Remember that even PSPVideo9 itself had some trouble getting 2-pa...

I think Mediacoder stumbled on the 3-pass setting. Try using singlepass, constant quality: crf 20 (or in Mediacoder, quality slider to 67 or above) and below is roughly equivalent to 768+ kbps, depending on the source. I found crf to be the best of the singlepass methods. Gave the "HQ-Aud"...

I think PMP has been developing very well but what I was looking for PSP was a kind all-in-one Media Player. What I would like is somewhat a breed between PMP Mod (AVC) and PSPlayerMT: - to be able to read my backuped avi movies without conversion (PSPlayerMT) at any resolution (PMP Mod) - to be ab...

Testing Mencoder with Mediacoder. Also trying to driectly use pmp_muxer_avc with that program. MEncoder seems slower than x264 for me (about twice). Very, very fast work indeed :D Currently running that FFXIII trailer in endless loop. Did you use the line you suggested on page 36? On the encoding side, I've requested the maker of Mediacoder, a very promising GUI mostly built around mencoder that previously supported PMP Mod, to do PMP Mod AVC en...

Well, battery life is much better than with XMB or PSPlayerMT (the latter burned through the pack in about 2 hours due to 333mhz). Well, about the loop, at least I seemed to be thinking in the right direction. Perhaps if I ask for some help of my IT-degree neighbour I could try and figure it out. Wh...

Got up to 5:30 hours today. I was thinking about that replay/loop thing I mentioned earlier. I don't know how to code, but wouldn't be the logic behind it that if the clip ends ( "p->semaphore_show_done" in pmp_play.c ?) there would be an "if" paramater stating that "if"...

Scyrax, what you're describing is exactly what occurs with my encodes as well. Sorry if my description was wrong, the video itself doesn't actually stutter, indeed. It's more of an ultra short "pop" or "crack" that occurs on the audio now and then, and which is only audible when ...

hi ,jonny, what highest bitrate through sony official psp avc decoder api can touch?:) i have tested the 6000kps ,it works perfectly:D Since the PSP's AVC api is Main Profile Level 3 (check the PSP's manual, it actually says so under the UMD standard) I think it's 10000 kbps. Hi yoshaw, FPS= rate/scale Thus, for example, 25 fps (PAL) is 25000/1000=25. 25/1 also works. 29.97 (NTSC) is 8000000/333667=29.97 Etc. You can calculate this with calculator to get the desired framerate within the muxed pmp file. Normally, the muxer detects the .txt file that is created alongside t...
