You could try this, but the file size will be large (not recommended for 1GB MS user)

1: Enable High Quality
2: Set the bitrate between 1100-1200
3: Add this at the video filter option ,harddup,unsharp=l3x3:1:c3x3:1

I've just used your programm,it's handy and fast but it lacks some options.

2-pass encoding, subtitles support,And it would also be helpfull if it automatically detected framerate of a file instead of having to enter it manually.

Also it gave me a rather large filesize,y's that?ih ad a 2cd xvid 700mb per cd. encoded the first using videora pmp converter at 2-pass 768 and got a 359mb file and the 2nd cd with pmp simple 0.07 at 768 and got 432mb,y's that?

Keep up the good work though, you got a good thing going.

Yes I agree with therock003. 2-pass encoding would result in much better quality!

Subtitles, I don't need. Automatic detecting of the framerate would be nice, though not nessary.

More filtering options would be sweet...

Cheers and keep up the great work!

Also something else that would be usefull would be if the pmp output filename was automatically set as the filenames input. So a.avi would automatically set the output to a.pmp.USer has only to select the output directory.

So miemt what do you say about the suggestions?

If you want to install managed directx

Install DirectX using the console by entering dxsetup.exe /InstallManagedDX

Hope that help

Miemt11

i tried out the suggestions you gave on the PMPmod/muxer thread

1000 bit rate , hardup, 25ofps etc.

The picture was much better but has ghosting , i think when you get 2 pass going it will be great

miemt11, do you think you can add vdub-like functionality, simple filters like crop/resize/etc with preview?
For example, with mencoder switches of cropping top bottom left right, someone could open up preview and set cropping and then just input the values as mencoder attributes to the appropriate switch.

I am trying to set up an easy way to crop letterbox dvd's (which are not native wide screen but actually has black bars on top and bottom hardcoded in the film) so that we don't waste space. Just a thought.

Add
-passlogfile "%2_PMP_2pass.log" -ovc xvid -xvidencopts pass=2
to the 'General Video Option' and u will get 2 pass in Xvid format.

Check Mencoder documentation to add additions paraments.
