hi!
i'm new and try to set up a dev environment using naplink and usb cable. the naplink ps2-cd alsready works, but it says that the cable and the pc are not ready. can i just plug in a cable (the other end free) and see if it detects the cable already? i have a cable that has an ali chip and therefore is unlikely to work. but perhaps it is compatible and i only have to plug it into the pc on the other side or do something special. but i think if have to order the right one in the internet (lik-sang)
thanks, digisnap
does naplink detect the cable
The question is, do you feel lucky? Well do ya? Punk?Saotome wrote:i get my x-port within the next days so i can start some ps2-coding :D
but my question is: if i would like to use naplink can i use the usb-cable which you get with the x-port - is it compatible with naplink?
thanks
...
Seriously though, it comes down to luck. It seems some xport cables use a PL2301 chip, while others use a cypress AN2720 chip. If you end up with the one which uses the pl2301 it'll work, otherwise it won't.

Sorry, the X-Port cable is incompatiable with Naplink. I tried the X-Port cable along with Naplink (Naplink was running off the HDD using PS2MENU) & Naplink did not detect the X-Port cable so you can't use the X-Port cable with Naplink.Saotome wrote:i get my x-port within the next days so i can start some ps2-coding :D

Sorry but, as stated before, there are really two versions of the cable. I have one X-Port cable here working with naplink.EugeneE3RD wrote:Sorry, the X-Port cable is incompatiable with Naplink. I tried the X-Port cable along with Naplink

Well, I have X-Port 2 & this might be the reason why Naplink didn't detect the cable.pixel wrote:Sorry but, as stated before, there are really two versions of the cable.
