Had it been done already? Any idea if posible or where to start looking around ?

This has been talked about many times on the forums and IRC channels.
The general outcome of the discussion is:
* Most people who might know what's required either can't or won't speak about the details. (NDA, etc)
* Even if you did manage to find out what needs to be done, the PS2 will probably have major issues due to the design. (Possible issues with bus arbitration, GS signal generation, etc)
* It's really not worth the effort. (Why would you want to.....)

I don't mind discussion going on about this, as long as it's productive and well founded.

to add to what jbit said, I guarantee you'll run into problems since the kernel has some delay loops which assume the EE is running at a specific speed. at the very least this will mess up video output.
