Will such USB to Ethernet Adapters (like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrustmaster-US ... 894&sr=1-1) work for such tasks as ps2link? Or just for online gaming?
Also, do USB to IDE adapters work?
Thanks,
Jay
Question about USB > Ethernet Adapter
I don't believe the USB to ethernet adapter will work on the PS2 for ps2link as I am unaware of any PS2 drivers (irx) for this. Go-Net is a USB-to-ethernet product which supposedly works for some games though. However, I have used a cheap USB to IDE cable successfully to connect a hard drive to the PS2 for use by ULE and other programs (the usbd.irx in ULE and other programs is compatible, and as long as the drive is FAT32 formatted, it works the same as a flash drive).
I would recommend spending your money on a PS2 network adapter if you can, as the network is faster than the USB 1.1 interfaces on the PS2. PS2 network adapters are still available (on ebay $20-40 US), many are available.
