boot advance problems

Post by The_User »

i have the expoit installed on my memory card and can boot my ps2 into an ftp server but im trying to get it to boot into boot advance and am having some problems. i can get it to the point where where it boots into boot advance but it doesn't seem to be reading bootinfo.txt. where exactly does this file go? badata-system? and i think i've got the syntax right but just to double check what exactly is it agian? and as a long shot it is "BOOTINFO.TXT" right? or mabye "bootinfo.txt". thnx for any help you can give me

Boot Advance ??? Thats a new one for me. Never heard of boot advance, not even from the pages of Scene or *gasp* Ownz.

I certainly *do hope* you aren't obliquely referring to HD Advance. That would be not nice, very not nice indeed.

Nah, Boot Advance is legit, is some sort of grub-alike bootloader, complete with screensaver and all!

gorim: Call the dogs off on this one =)

The_User: personally, I've only looked at this using ps2client / ps2link. It looks like it could be set up as your BOOT.ELF on memory card, but i prefer having ps2client default for now. The file you need to set is bootinfo.txt (ie all lower caps). There's no menntion of any directory names within the elf, so i'm guessing it either looks at the root level, or whereever the elf was loaded from (i'm leaning toward the latter, so stick the .txt next to the BOOT.ELF)

Good luck!
Damn, I need a decent signature!
