Download PS2 independence installer from www.ps2savetools.com.
Then create a cd using this guide: http://ps2dev.org/kb.x?T=593
Insted of using Naplink and that file stucture...use this file structure...

\fifademo\gamez.elf
\files\boot.elf
\files\ipconfig
\files\ps2ip.irx
\files\ps2link.irx
\files\ps2smap.irx
\sce_dd\ioprp16
\sce_dd\ioprp20
\sce_dd\ioprp165
\sce_dd\ioprp202
\cdvd.irx
\dummy.000
\expinst.elf
\msystem
\ps2load.elf
\readme
\system
\title

I haven't tried it yet, but it should work...

If you got version 7 and up on your PS2, then you got a problem...
I can't use the knife swap trick to boot the Naplink cd whith the demo cd swap trick, and i think it couse PS2 dubble check the cd...

You don't have to have a modchip, but you do have to have a way to run homebrew. You can use the ps2-independence exploit to boot ps2link.

If it's an option, it's a lot easier to use an xport or find someone with a modchip to install for you.
