Well announced resently on www.the-magicbox.com a company called Diveneo(spelling might be wrong) is going to release a product that lets you save games to your harddrive and play them. I was wondering with this product if you could save the ps2 apps you make onto this program and it will play it? I just wanted to know if this is a good idea or bad one(to me it seems good for programers but bad for commercial games because all you have to do is rent a game and save it to a harddrive and its yours and I dont know how the program can tell if the games yours or not so luckily this wont be a problem cause I would hate for this seemingly good program to not come out because of people pirating stuff.)
This program would be good for me because im making a 3D game right now thats kind of like onimusha(i have a gameengine/metrowerks/maya/other dev stuff)so it would take up alot of space (cause of the CG) and i would have to keep burning more CD's and im broke now.

This is a good idea, but since MrBrown censure all topics he want (i made a topic talking about dev on a prog like the one from divi.. to maybe launch a project (with or without restrictions)) this is hard to believe we will see a program like this one and it s bad. Bad because we are on a legal forum of Ps2 dev with a community who build legals tools and programs but legal for them and real licence of course. Make a similar hdloader is possible and LEGAL, and the pirates could use it knowing the consequence of piracy, we can't survey every one, and some people make bad interpretation of think.

So if someone want to do it, just do it !
It s LEGAL and no one should judge us without presemption.

(Sjeep (if i am not wrong) is on the staff of the official HDLoader knowing it possibly could be hacked) and Sjeep is not a pirate to participate make this)

(I am sure some devers from here already made it, but keep it.)

If a gun is sell to someone, how to know if he will kill someone...?? Does some country need to destroy all guns ?

As people from all over the world use these forums we must bend to the lowest common denominator in terms of legality. This means not talking about a tool designed with only piracy in mind like this Divineo thing. If you don't like it - talk about it somewhere else.

As for a launcher for homebrew appliations, look into ps2menu. It should be able to do exactly that but does not have the ability to play commercial games.
