Can I just hook the two together with a Stardard Network Cable or do I need a Crossover cable? Do I need a router/Switch ? I've done networking for years...Just never messed with the PS2 before?

I'm not really sure, network can allow you 'go Head to Head playing a game'.

I think if you want to do that, with 2 tv, you have to connect 2 ps2 with an i-link cable, cost 5€/$.

Best regards

To play head-to-head you will require
:2 PS2's (gee i wonder y:P)
:1 standard crossover cable
:2 tv's (or devices that can show ur ps2 game on it)

okay now connect your ps2's into ur tv's(or other) then connect them to the power supplies then gett ur crossover cable and plug one end inot one ps2 and the other end into the other ps2 then insert your lanable game into each ps2 boot it up and go to the lan section and create a game if all goes well then you should be owning each other:P
