PS2Link wont work

Post by coolamn »

I downloaded Ps2link 1.24 from ps2dev.org and burned it to cd.
When i booted the PS2 with modchip, the Ps2link wont work well.
The informations were printed on the screen:
Could not find IPCONFIG.DAT using defaults
Net config: 192.1168.0.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1
Could not load module mc0:/BWLINUX/IOMANX.IRX 494967093

So the network adaptor couldnt be initialized, InLink connected Ps2 failed.

Those messages are perfectly harmless, and doesn't tell that ps2link doesn't work. Please proceed to more tests, especially network related. Check your wires, your windows's network configuration, etc.

How is not being able to find boot files harmless? :P

It looks like ps2link is trying to read from the wrong directory on his memory card.

To some, harmless means not fatal. Everything else is just a flesh wound.

Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

Actually Mrb is right..

If he is trying to boot from cdrom and ps2link is trying to read it's file from memory card, then something is definitely not working right...
As to what the problem is, I dunno, and too tired to think about it ;)

Hmm, that reminds me that I need to get a patch to reload1 integrated and released. Maybe this guy is trying to boot from the Linux Kit?

Errr... right. Haven't seen the ioman thing. Hum, well, that means ps2link thought it was run from reload, that is, argc != 0 and != 1. Bad modchip... ?

The symptom boomint and I each had on our respective 50ks (mine a V11, his a V10), when trying to execute the Linux RTE Reload1 maneuver, was the "black screen of wtf ?!?!?"

So, while it could be the 50k problem, the symptoms are't matching.

But its been how long since you made the first patch and no one complained about the dyslexic JAL, so if you get to it within another year or so, things should be ok. ;)

reload1 1.1 has been released: http://playstation2-linux.com/project/s ... ase_id=374

It incorporates Boomint's fix for SCPH-50000 and higher PS2s. Thanks Boomint!

Enjoy :).

Hmm, I had a patch long ago against ps2link to scan memory for reload1's "signature", instead of the argc hack. I'll dig it up and put it in.

I had checked my wires and the windows's network configuration.
It was correct . The faults maybe were caused by the ethernet adapter.

Err, no. As I stated earlier, I misread your first post. I'd blame this "couldn't load IOMANX.IRX" on your modchip now. Seems it does funky patches to osdsys, and run ps2link with some weired settings.
