Flash limitations?

Post by Histo »

Is there a certain number of times that the firmware chip can be flashed? Or does anyone have any specs on the flash rom the firmware is held on?

usually at least 10,000 to 100,000 times before corruptions may occur.

as for the specs, use the search function.

Its your basic flash memory. All you need to know is, its not a hard drive, sectors wear out over time. Don't abuse it as a live writable filesystem, only change things when they need to change. One change a day for each sector probably will give you many years of use out of it. 100 changes each day is probably not good.

Not that I see where this is critical information. We have been using flash memory cards for a long time now. :)
