New exploit for 1.5 from PSP-DEV

Post by Municher »

PSP-DEV now claims to have a direct loader. Say goodbye to swapping.

Several days ago we released the swaploit (15-Jun) , some of sceners got satisfied but some of you tell us to do it better.
Today we are proud to announce that in a few days you will get a new hit from Killer-X and PsP-Dev Team...
They claim it's a legit, seemingly no-swap exploit for 1.5. PSP Hacker has picked up the story.

Nice. Release date 22.6.2005, 1200 GMT!

I've been wondering something, and maybe you guys could enlighten me as to if it would be possible (in theory).

Could they have taken the 1.0 firmware dump, found which file was responsible for the exploit in 1.0, and patched it into the 1.5 firmware? That would seem to be a very easy solution, but I wonder if it's possible? Are all those files signed in any way?

Am I missing something?

You missed to use the search function of this board.
It has been tried and it kills your PSP.

They should use some more craptacular music in their videos. :P I guess we will have to wait until tomarrow to see. But I'm glad I didn't buy a memory stick yet. ;)

I am not going to be reading posts about this all day. Do not start new threads on this subject, they will be promptly deleted (or locked if another mod gets to them first).

Report back when they actually release something.
