Windows CE for PSP?

Post by EdwardFMA »

Has anyone tried this. I think a Windows Operating System would be awesome for the PSP. Also it is open source ^_^ here is the link to Microsoft Website to download the Setup file in the setup file it will ask what Processor you would like to build for there are 4 MIPS selection *shrugs* i didn't see any R4000.

It isn't open source, it's "Shared Source" which is an entirely different kettle of fish. Personally I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole, there is very little that you can do legitimately with it without actually purchasing an official Windows Embedded license from Microsoft.

well it's already prebuilt for MIPSII VR4131 is there much differen't between that and R4000? i would love to try this project, but i don't know much when it comes to C and there are no lessons for PSP Development I have the PSPSDK working on my computer and i've made a simple Matrix program which types "I'm watching you neo" by just figureing out the code in HelloPSP i would like to make a controller demo, but i can't find a sample which i can learn from ;)

Well i think the same problem as with porting linux to the psp arises... you first need a bootloader for the psp.... 'cause i highly doubt that you can start your "windows ce homebrew" directly form the xmb / memorystick....

This would be very interesting because CE is a decent PDA OS, it would be quite usable if we could get the analog knob to work as a mouse pointer. Is anyone working on trying to create a bootloader?

I think we would need that true emulator to toy with a bootloader much.
