Edit SaveGame Data

Post by Magus »

Does anyone know if it's possible to edit the savegames?

An example of what I'm wanting to know is:

Is there a way to edit the savegame to unlock different modes in games?

or

Is is possible dump your UMD game and edit the contents and rebuild it somehow to allow the content to be unlocked?

yes you need to decript them before and then recrypt them when done, shine released some times ago an encrypter/decrypter to do this.
in the pspsdk there are also the definitions and a sample application to do the same.
and i'm also doing a program that patches the savedata of some games automatically without using a pc or modyfing files before the process.
to unlock new areas and modify the file in any way you need to know how the particular save work for example by comparing various save games not so much different, different only by the thing you need.
