Change shown Firmware Version of Emulated 2.71?

Post by Martek »

Hello

I have bought Socom2 and can play it with my 2.71SE-C but I cant play online because it says that I have to update to 2.81..
I dont want to loose any Homebrew support, but I think if I would change the Version shown in the XMB in devhooked 2.71 Firmware(like XFlash does with 1.50) The update would work.

Does anyone know where I can find the 2.71 value?

Strange...

The changelog for SE-B'' contains
  • Added SFO version bypass to real umd's. (this should enable gta vcs umd to be played.)
Apparently this doesn't work for in-game Firmware queries.

First: This is not actualy working with 2.71SE-C
Second: It cant change the XMB Shown Firmware of SE-Versions

Well then downgrade to 2.71 SE B'

It's not as bad as loosing homebrew...

What makes you think it can't change the system software version number?

No, I don't have Socom, and I don't feel like downgrading and upgrading right now...

Sorry for wasting your time then.

in the new SE-C SDK you can set the version number by doing

Code: Select all

sctrlKernelSetDevkitVersion(0x02080110);
That would change the version number to 2.81 for example. However, the problem with SOCOM 2 is not firmware version, it checks something else.
