Obtaining the PSPs firmware

Post by romhacker »

Has anyone come up with a way to get it yet? Is there any information about the firmware chip documented yet?

You can probably find the pinout on Samsung's website, the problem is getting at the pins. Since it's a BGA chip, your best bet would be to desolder the chip with a hot-air gun. But doing so would put your PSP in a state where it's unlikely you'll ever get it working again, I'm afraid...
