4.xx kernel problems with UMD/PSX execution

Post by Pirata Nervo »

Ok, first of all, I have already used dax's sample which comes with 4.01 m33 and it launched UMD's and PSX games. Now stopped working and one of my UMD's is not run on 4.xx kernel using loadexec functions. (my prx for 3.xx loads umd's using load module* functions and works perfectly on 3.xx)

Then I created a prx which uses load module * functions to start UMD's. Always worked too but then it stopped working. I dont know. It gives a Failed to allocate memory block error when starting the UMD. (not loading)

I Know some users who have the same problem.

Error for dax's sample:
8002014E

gives that error for psx(as far as I know, all psx games) and umd's(only some) now.

my umd prx works perfectly for 3.xx kernel but not for 4.xx kernel.
I am pulling my hairs and I don't know what to do.
I have no plugins enabled and the kernel for GAME is set to 4.xx (dax's sample is in GAME4XX)

Edit:
OK, definitely no UMD's work using dax's sample code in GAME.
Didn't try from GAM4XX/bootload. Do they need to be run from there?

Sorry for double posting but I got UMD's working (using load module functions) exporting my function to load umd's from patchexit_driver.prx (similar to rdriver from dax sample).
I need to psx working now.
I will update this post if I can get it working.

Loading umd and psx from a 4.01 kernel game mode app is definitely possible, I can't help you with your problems, but keep trying.
