Snake

Image Snake, with full source code, including a small Java program for converting images to raw format.

This was a discussion in the "PSP Software Development Discussion" forum, written by me as an example for newbies, but looks like some people like my hack so much that they even play it (I don't like to play it for more than some minutes, but was fun to write it), so I'm posting it in this forum, too.

The version from yesterday was crap: no good graphics and bad controller response. This version is version 1. We are planning to enhance it, I'll add a version number then. I've notified the dcemu administrator.

Thanks Shine! This is a fun game. It's neat to see the way this game is progressing. I can't wait to see what enhancements you guys will add next. Maybe something like this:

Well, I hope it will reach this point some day once you figure out the PSP's 3D stuff. Keep up the good work!

Snake V1.1, packaged for PSP firmware 1.0 and 1.5. Bandwidth is no problem, the weblink can be posted at other sites, too. No new features, but I've ported it to the new ps2dev PSPSDK and I changed the code from 16 bit color mode to true color. Now the color gradients are much smoother:
