It's doable, but yeah unless you dont mind losing your PSP I wouldn't try it...although after playing the SNES emu at 333 for over an hour it says the temp of the cpu is 30C which is relatively low for a cpu...my PC's cpu runs at 40-50 overclocked...and the xbox runs at 50-60 after a good gaming session...

Also, it's hard to say if the PSP would even accept that command...and no real way to measure any performance benefits...unless you program a REALLY heavy graphics prog with an fps counter...

I can't see 33MHz CPU speed providing worthwhile improvement for any
program, at least not enough to warrant running outside of specification.

I didn't know you could query the CPU temp. RU sure it isn't the battery temp?

In fact, I'm sure you can't.
The CPU doen't have a temperature sensor on it, the battery does.

different cpus have different ranges for the temperature. some work fine with 80°C and some die before they reach 60°

i believe if you use that function, it will just use highest default (333,333,166)

you could try incressing the bus.

I just dont recomend touching the processer.

How high does the psp bus run?

becouse overclocking the bus will generate, much less heat
