Using the USB libs in the PSP like PSPLink does seems not to work with TA-082 PSPs after using the TA-082 downgrader. Seems some of the idstorage keys are corrupt. There are some folks working on it. You can follow the thread here.

They seem to be pretty close. They have some code to restore the keys, but they're debugging it right now. I'd hold off a few days... actually, I am holding off a few days... my TA-082 has the same USBHOSTFS issue. That's why I've been keeping an eye on that and a couple other threads on this issue. :)

You're welcome... I just fixed my IDStorage as well. It's nice to have the PSP identify itself as a Sony device. :)

Anyway, fixing the idstorage means no need to hack the psplink stuff for some bogus manufacturer's ID. So if others are using a TA-082 they soft downgraded using the 2.71 downgrader, there's an idstorage fixer at the link above that restores the keys so that your TA-082 USB works properly (among other things).

The 2.80 and 3.03 downgraders apparently don't need this, so if you used either of those, don't bother. This is just for the orignal 2.71 downgrader where you ran idstoragechange first, then downgraded to 1.50.
