AVC mode CAVLC to read Ipod stuff

Hello Guys,

I m not coding myself due to limited time, but I m following up whats hapening on the PSP scene since I ve got my first PSP 1.5 last year...

Now at home we've got an IPOD, 2 PSP, 2 archos (wit mp4 pluging) and of course some PC :)

What a mess to convert a file in the rigt format...

I ve done a lot of profiles (on 3GP_Converter) using the famous ffmpeg comand line.

At the moment I have identified 2 famous format:

640x480 level 1.3 (CAVLC) which is ok for Ipod 5.5G, Arcos and PC of course.

But the best one is for sure the new 720x480 Level 3.0 (CABAC) which is very good for my PSP and Archos and PC.

As I m pretty sure that Ipod will never be compatible with level 3 and CABCA coding, I then wondering why y the hell nobody did find the proper hack to enable Ipod file reading on the PSP ??? !!!

Thats not a big deal, I m sure, because the PSP is already able to read CAVLC for Ipod file coded in level 1.3 for the resolution 320x240.
So the code inside the PSP is able to decode CAVLC stream...

Is there any good guy having done some test or progress in this direction ,? I thing this would be a major step if we can open PSP world to Itune/Ipod files (I mean 640x480 of course)

any answer apreciated, so that I keep dreaming to a nice world...

On my side I did try very simple things like:
coverting a 10 seconds stream into 720x480 level 3 CABAC, then merging the same clip converted in level 3 CAVLC... The PSP is showing the file properly and start to play it, but after the 10 seconds, it stop report an non compatible video...
