PSP internal key / whipeout - (Japan) - test request

Post by Neila »

I have a request for people who have Whipeout-Jap ver.
Could you test please if the Whipeout expansion pack GAMMAPACK1 would work if you delete TEST.BIN from the files in PSP\SAVEDATA\UCJS10007DGAMMAPACK1 .

I have a feeling that someone was just testing the encoder of the PSP dev-kit and they included this file with the release by mistake.
.. probably.. having just a symbol in the test.bin before encoding, and the data we have is one 128bit block of encryption (encrypted with just the internal key)..?

Actually being 16 bytes, it could be the result of an empty file, being the added IV vector.

There are other saves that carry PARAM.SFO, that doesn't reference more than one file, containing other files in the process.

When, and if they are the same, the other updates for Wipeout are released, one could learn more.

no test yet?

since this is not a save, but expasnsion, it was done on a PSP dev-kit.
The SFO is created for the direct-loadable content of the gamesave, and the rest of data-files are simply encrypted and decrypted on game's request to further load the information from that folder.

Do those other save-games work when you delete the extra-files?
