scea email fake or possible?

Post by originalself »

I imagine someone here has sent an email to scea asking about psp licencing, supossidly someone got this in their response.
We are considering, now that we have launched in North America, ways that we might be able to make the SDK available to those who wish to develop non-game applications or use it as a platform for freeware or for academic uses.
Has anyone else goten a similer response?

That'd go with their normal policy nevertheless. Might be true.

You have 589 posts to read up on before you can blame him from not posting any constructive information.

Now, now, is that an answer to post to a forum administrator. And for beeing a complete idiot, you only prooven to be one yourself, by copy/pasting infos available from here:

http://www.technology.scee.net/sceesite/software.html
https://www.newdev.scee.net/AreaNewLice ... mplate.cfm

You actually reached the "official developper" material, reserved to companies that SONY approves, and by no way is connected to homebrew or so.

Hahaha, it's a comedy of hypocrisy!

In any case, SCEE has said many times that there are no plans for a Net Yaroze/PS2Linux equivalent for PSP, however they also said that it's not impossible either.

In any case, any effort to develop for PSP will lead you to the license application process, which means you will have to show a business model, game concept, etc.

What? My first post was a quote of an email I recieved in response to a question about homebrew/idie development... It's not a copy and paste from a site.

I spent 2 minutes browsing sony's website to find back these stuff.

Before mailing random people requesting info, and mis-interpreting their replies, one should first get some knowledge about what's going on, and how they usually deal with requests. The reply you recieved is the exact same as some of the information pages on the various sony developer application pages.
