Newbie prx Question

Post by logik »

So I'm new to the psp dev scene. I've been reading, exploring, etc. Looking at a firmware dump, it's apparent that prx's are the meat and potatoes. So I read up on those. Apparently, they are encrypted, signed, hashed, etc - basically impossible to mess with. And there's talk of bricking your psp if you try to change with them. My question is, if you are using a firmware loader (mph) and you load up fw 2.0, you are running it from the memory stick - so is there still a risk of bricking? It would seem at worst it just wouldn't work or could mess up your memory stick. I would appreciate any layman's explanation..

Cheers,
Logik

you do not need to worry over bricking
your psp with johnmphs firmware loader

it is entirely psp firmware emulation
in psps ram memory ...never does it
touch your flash0 or the real firmware

hope thats layman enough ;)
