Naplink

Post by GuessWHO »

Can anyone tell me how to use naplink?
I have a Bafo BF-100C cable.
Download and burn the naplink PS2 1.0.1a iso.
Download the napDrvr103.zip and napclient-win32-v1.0.2b.zip.
Plug the cable into my pc and install the driver and run the napclient.
Plug the other end into my PS2 and boot into the naplink.
Got cable and pc to be ready.
Then i try to execute a demo which i download from thirdcreation.net.
I get receiving... on my TV screen.
I waited and waited and it is still receiving.
What did i do wrong? is there any step that i miss.
I am using windows XP. could that be the reason?

Naplink is only compatible with Prolific PL-2301/2302 cables. If your cable doesn't have a prolific chipset it won't work.

and as the original post stated naplink initialized ok.
My best guess is the normal naplink behaviour, always start pc side client before starting ps2 side, naplink will crap out after having sent a couple of "keepalive" packets that gets no response. If that doesnt help then my guess is that the pc side has driver issues.
As long as naplink on ps2 says "cable ready" the usblink cable is ok.
( I have a Bafo myself, I dont remember the model number though )

Also make sure that you dont have things like an 'IR' sensor (DVD) or an AR dongle plugged in, as I think these devices can also cause naplink a few problems.
