Smart-Jack Adapter? Ipod to Psp?? Is it possible?? Thx

Post by CrewXp »

Does anyone know if it's possible to purchase or create a smart-jack adapter?

Both the psp and the ipod have smart jacks (for headphones and remotes that can change the song, pause it, etc)

But does anyone know if I can make/purchase an adapter for it? So I can use some headphones made for the ipod for the psp?

Thanks

well... technically yes, but you'd need a micro-controller to change the codes from one into the correct codes for the other...

it is cheaper, easier, and less of a hassle to just buy a new headphone remote cord honestly...

but if you want to, start figuring out what commands are sent by each, and learn EEPROM programming (usually C) to convert it from x to y.

otherwise... no. you SHOULDNT be able to hot-swap these...

or if you just want to use the headphones, make a cable extender for it...

thats the easiest way... just you dont get the remote crap of it... use the sony brand one :P
