the PS2 Independence exploit from a CDROM

Post by kuco_ko »

Hello, and thanks for your help!!!

I am a spanish person and I ask that you excuse me because my expressions don`t be very good.

I have a question about the PS2 Independence exploit, it is:

I have created my CD compilation MODE2/XA CD, but i don´t have proved it because i don´t know if it would be able to break my PS2. Would I be able to break it?

If I wouldn´t break my PS2, I have another question:

Will I allways have to put the psone CDrom in the PS2 for to start?

I hope you can response me this question.

I wish you have a nice day!!!!

Bye.
kuco.

I assume you mean you are have burned the exploit installer cd and are worried about doing a swap to use it? No, it isn't very good on your PS2 to do this, but if you only do it the one time to install the exploit, and are careful about it, you shouldn't damage your PS2.

But if you know someone with a modded ps2 or an xport that can help you out, I would still recommend doing that instead of doing a swap.

Yes. The ps2-independence exploit works by exploiting a flaw in how the ps2 handles ps1 games. In order to boot the exploit you have to use a ps1 game.

Hope that helps.
