I don't see many obvious changes. "Backup Utility" has been added under system settings, and it appears to support backing up and restoring the entire hard drive to external media. Selecting "Remote Play" when I'm using HDMI output now causes my PS3 to crash. New stuff in the PS store. I don't see anything else.

Firmware 1.31 is out
PS3UPDATE.PUP
Still unpacks, nothing interesting there.
I see no obvious changes; I'm sure Sony will announce the changes as usual sometime soon.
edit: after updating, my RFOM gamesave is corrupted. Maybe because the game autobooted and I quit while it was loading? Might want to back up your saves before updating just in case.

On japanese site they say that you can install PS2 games to hdd.
They started that in 1.30 but didn't finish.

I think ps2 games can now use the hard drive, not be installed to it.

The Formula One demo, which you can download for free from the Playstation Store, works now, didn't work with 1.30.

This patch specifically allows Fnal Fantasy XI and PlayOnline to be installed.
Once installed, even in th US, Final Fantasy XI will boot without the disc. (!)

1.50 ... wonder if kxploit works on this one? :P
No big obvious changes, I'm sure Sony will list them at their usual site in a few days.

Actually, there is a big change hidden in there - they fixed the PS2 graphics compatibility. 480i is now displayed correctly. Lots of joy is spreading over the internet as a result. ;)

Aah, so they finally got the byte order or field ordering right or whatever stupid problem that was. :P
Anyway, well, there are no obvious changes of interest to ps3 dev at least :)

Hi, Just got my PS3 and am looking to update the firmware from 1.10 but I can't get hold of anything other than 1.50 and 1.51.
Can anyone provide a link to 1.32, I found one but when I downloaded it it turned out to be 1.50 ?
Any help appreciated.
