when you have this on your psp can you still do all the things you can do on a custom firmware like 3.03OE_C? such as play ISO's,homebrew and PSX games?

++ Added Fast Fourier Transform
---- this should make some visualizations like spectrogram
---- a little bit more interesting :)

++ Added XML support ...small simple implementation
---- i dont have much plans on XML parsing besides just
---- using as reading in text viewer

++ Added Comic Book Reader (WIP)
---- I have no plans for CBR (RARed image archives) support
---- as unrar library is not on my table nor do i care :P
---- extremely buggy at the moment and long way from
---- complete but i aim to support CBZ files and your
---- normal image formats (JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG)

---- Worked on a nice cool comic book appeal interface
---- that should appeal to comic lovers out there
---- with a simple set of user icons and menu system

++ Added Visualization work mostly on skeletal system
---- this would allow for any further additions to visualizations
---- i am thinking of making it modular but nothing is written in stone

++ Added Vizo View to Audio Player

++ Added Current Playing Track Info POP_UP to Vizo View
---- Along with Track Name, Track Number, Artist Name, Album Name
---- Info Pill is shown in upper right hand corner of current Vizo in Use
---- whenever you switch between them this info would show and fade
---- away after 3secs and reappear upon switching, which is done with
---- pressing PSP_SCREEN button on the bottom bar, HOLDING this button
---- in Vizo View would turn off screen like normal ....but Screen Brightness
---- Levels are disabled during Vizo View

++ Added Oscilloscope 1x Wave Vizo
++ Added Oscilloscope 2x Waves Vizo

Each of you update make this project more and more promising and also interessting. for the vizo plugin, is it possilbe (it's not a request but more a question) to make it compatible with Milkdrop/projectM preset that could be really sweet!
Good luck with the project, I'll be watching :)

no idea what you mean ....milkdrop is a winamp plugin thing no?
winamp parses its plugin with its own plugin system .....i have no need
for this and would take much too much time to recreate system like this
drawing codes, and math codes and blending ...too much just not possible

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. true, milkdrop is originally a winamp plugin however closed source. Another project based on the concept of milkdrop is being developped for unix system and use openGL and FTGL under the name of projectM. If you need the site feel free to check http://xmms-projectm.sourceforge.net/

I tought you visualision could be written in some sort of txt file (like the one in Milkdrop) being interpreted by the XMB as specific pixel position/transition based on the music's spectrum. I don't know if I really make sence, forgive my english.
Here is a sample of a milk file
Indeed I realise that fitting this into the rest of the project could be painfull that's why it was more a question than a request :)

Well, how lyrics are done usually is in a "LRC" format... Which is basically a text file with lyrics with the start time of a line, or word... Here is an overview of the format:

LRC Lyrics Center

I think the Enhanced LRC would be better for your purposes, as it allows word synchronisation.

Bear in mind that using this approach, you have to create the synchronised lyrics beforehand... However, it would be rather difficult - if not impossible - to do it on the fly, so I see this as your only option.

Who Here Uses Ogg Vorbis for their Audio Needs?

that is the question and i need feedback on what is useful
to these ogg people besides audio streaming playback.

basically i dont use and dont care and see no point but it is
simple to support so i ask you the people what should you want.

Well, I don't personally use it, but if you can support it, then do ;)

If it could support this, it would make a lot of people happy.

++ Added Ogg Vorbis Playback to Audio Player
---- Decoding is done in software for now
---- maybe one day ME powering can be done but playback
---- currently does not use a significant amount of CPU

---- Supported Bitrates is whatever libvorbis supports i guess
---- only reason i guess is cuz i did not do extensive testing
---- but 64kbps seemed to work just fine and also tested
---- 128kbps and 320kbps all seemed work fine with no notice of hiccups

---- 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, 160, 192, 224, 256, 320kbps Bitrates should all work
---- Sampling Rates upto 44.100kHz is only supported
---- ...48kHz is NOT supported by PSP audio hardware

++ Added Streaming Vorbis Playback
---- Buffer Size of 32K is used
---- If selected audio file is lower than buffer size then
---- no streaming is neccessary ...this is called On-Memory Playback
---- Double Buffering Size of 2*32K is used
---- If selected audio file is larger than buffer size then
---- streaming playback is used with double buffering ...Most likely method

++ No Artwork supported for Ogg Vorbis format ...seems no player can do
---- this properly and Image multiplexing into Ogg container is somewhat
---- experimental at the moment

++ No Mono Audio Support at the moment but should get to eventually

---- you enter amount the bill is
---- select your tip percentage (Default is 15% for the USA fools ;)
---- Total for waitress is shown ...simple as that, i find this useful sometimes

++ Added Basic Rudimentary Calculator (+, -, *, /, (, ), ^, . (decimel))

++ Added World Clock ...right now working on the map itself (Design)
---- but the time zones are in for these Major Cities to scroll thru:
---- Honolulu (GMT - 10)

---- Berlin (GMT + 1 with DST)
---- Vienna (GMT + 1 with DST)
---- Athens (GMT + 2 with DST)
---- Helsinki (GMT + 2 with DST)
---- Cairo (GMT + 2)
---- Beirut (GMT + 2)

I Think this list is enough for most cases =) ...alot of my fellow office
workers thought it would be really useful so world clock i def use some
times any other small little tools is always helpful for us travelers i know that
countries will use CEST (Central Europian Summer Time) and CDT (Central Daylight Time) and what not
i just refer all these to Daylight Savings Time (DST) for historical purposes :P

now if only psp had built in magnetic compass :)

++ Added Simple Note Taking tool
---- support upto 256 pages if wanted to
---- support to erase a single pages or select
---- multiple random pages to erase
---- the same applies to the notes themselves
---- and a set of pages of notes is of course a notebook
---- support to erase a notebook as well
---- support to erase the entirity of ALL notes in the
---- X:/PSP/NOTES/ directory ...this is of course sensitive
---- so you will be asked to confirm each Note/Notebook
---- or just allow to Erase ALL

++ Added Contact List tool
---- i suck with peoples names and all that junk so this
---- by far is the most useful to me
---- support for key entries of these types:

---- Email (128 character limit)
---- Site (256 character limit)
---- MySpace (128 character limit)
---- Phone Number (32 character limit)
---- Cellphone Number (32 character limit)
---- Address #01 (256 character limit)
---- Address #02 (128 character limit)
---- Birthday (16 character limit)
---- Notes (256 character limit)

---- Note: you can have as many of each key entry as you please
---- this makes things dynamic ...you can also sort contacts by
---- first name or last name thru the Contacts List
---- added counter for Current contact / Total contacts to lower right hand corner
---- maybe one day support pics to add to contacts
---- for now default is a simple dot that you can specify its colour inside a empty box

---- changed the selected city font color as well as the vertical
---- line that runs down that city color to make location

I am thinking to wait and see how these iR plugins
develop and see which the most users see as successful
i have been asked about its inclusion before and
at the moment i will just wait and see what pans out
but i am definitely going to include some iR ability for
text input you can see some early evidence of this in the
notes taking tool

++ Added File System for caching all files on Memstick
---- Tag information to make common displayed info
---- more easily displayed without having to always parse

++ Started work on File browser (FileS)
---- Added Information View to FileS (2of3 For Browser Views)
---- Added Scroll Bar with dynamic height approximation by Entries in DIRs
---- Added preview pane to this view
---- Added File Size Count
---- Added Jump to Root for Info View (/)
---- Added Jump to Parent Directory for Info View (...)
---- Sorted DIRS first before files ...a lot more convenient
---- Cant forget about B for Bytes for File Size Counting :P ....so slow i am today

---- Added List View to FileS (1of3 For Browser Views)
---- Sux all anus ...right now currently only one listing DIR
---- i will add another DIR listing on the bottom to make copy and
---- pasting between places much easier ...but currently just dirty and poor
---- Played around with what should also be listed besides File Name + File Size
---- i am thinking maybe have a third column before File Size for something
---- like Image dimensions if an image file or track length if music file
---- either way this third column will be user defined definitely as its better
---- to just let everyones taste decide

---- Added Tree View to FileS (3of3 for Browser Views)
---- Doesnt work :P (WIP) (Work In Punishment)

++ Added Picture Viewer (WIP)
---- Added Help Screen POP_UPs and it kicks ass
---- Show this Screen with SELECT and Hide by pressing again
---- thumbnails down to 64x48 ...any lower and pics just not really scrollable :P
---- thinking about how wii does its photo channel and ahows ALL pics in such
---- a mass of tiny thumbnails ...i think it is cool but see no use for a handheld
---- Allow 3200x2400 MAX Size of image resolution ...more than enough
---- for JPEG, PNG is a bitch ...Bugs, but not impossible, GIF definately Impossible :P i will avoid for now
---- other formats still to come this viewer is a tiny baby still

++ Added Sorting by File Name to Picture Viewer
++ Added Sorting by File Date to Picture Viewer
++ Added Sorting by File Size to Picture Viewer

++ Added Sorting by Thumbnails to Picture Viewer
---- Sorting of thumbnails is done by whichever sorting you
---- selected from the 3 choices above ...when you like which sorting
---- method you choose to stick with just pressing the SCREEN button
---- while inside the DIR that you would like to show thumbs for
---- the thumbnail system will pick up that sorting method ...so thumbs
---- can be easily shown or not shown in one of the three sorting methods you like

++ Scrapped the Comic Viewer ...i Know ...but it must be done as i have a
---- new plan after doing the picture viewer and so will rewrite because
---- one of the golden rules in coding is DO NOT FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR CODE !! :P
---- so im gonna attack that damn Comic Reader at a new angle and should be massly improved

++ Improved ASSERT system a bit
++ Improved HOME button exit callback thruout the entire system
++ Improved DRAW system to handle thumbnails better (still buggy)
++ Improved extension checks to handle the image formats for when browsing
++ Improved EXCEPT system for a bit more readable and organized display for when exceptions do occur
---- i will make this global so that any future devs can use and not have to install / register their own
---- exception handlers ...course you are welcome to always stick with your own :P

++ Added Sorting by File Rez
---- had completely forgotten about image dimensions :P
---- guess thats what happens when you stay up for long
---- might as well have a sorting where dimensions take the
---- place of the DATE field in the middle of browser ex.

---- some_image_file.jpg..................320 x 240......99 KB
---- another_image_file.jpg..............640 x 320......99 KB ...etc...

---- I am not so sure thumbnail sorting can take this sorting in effect
---- might have to settle with sorting by image_dime = (image_width * image_height);
---- and use this for ascending order ...if somebody has a better way to do
---- a quick method than this then please do tell me
