Not sure how hackable it is.... from what I've read it's a slimmed down version of the Cell processor - only 4 SPU's ..the question is who is going to be first to pull the Cell chip from their PS3 and stick it in it.....

The article title is misleading - the SpursEngine SE1000 is NOT a Cell processor in any form. It's merely four SPEs in a single package. The CBEA requires more than just SPEs to qualify as a Cell processor. To be accurate, the SpursEngine SE1000 is a Stream processor.

That said, the SPEs are pretty awesome for SIMD work. Having them available in a regular PC would be pretty cool... as long as the software was there.

would be nice if it came with an sdk :)

the only alternative I know is the cell accelerator board for a price of $5k :(

the leadtek card now hit European shelves, I just ordered mine (I dont link to any price bots as I guess that would be rated as spam).
