PSP with a signed ram?

Post by Dariusc123456 »

Could it be possible that sony might have the ram signed so if any code try to modify the ram, it wont work?

maybe but it wouldn't be that hard to bypass, as they would need to write a function for the older games, and we could just find and use that function

But even if they write a function for it, it still need to be encrypted with a rsa key. Knowing if the AES keys are located within the psp hardware, they could also store the rsa private keys for the ram within it too.

The reason i ask because on the psp go (4k) that if sony might have new security features on there.

EDIT:

How come that the digital signature within the fw is more than 20bytes? Did they sign the eboot with sha-2 or sha-128? In 3.60ofw, the signature is 20 bytes, and the psp games/demo's form the store is 40bytes.

I don't think that would be a nice idea. Do you imagine the amount of encryption/decryption load required to do an encrypted RAM? That would be foolish from Sony, and PSP wouldn't be able to handle that at a decent speed. Not to talk about the games and all the 3D calcs + encryption/decryption load...

Sony knows the hardware better than us, so they will think of something.
